Quinta da Seara

In 1962, Dr Manuel Queiroz Martins de Faria acquired Quinta da Seara, an estate located in Palmeira de Faro. This owner wasted no time restructuring the vineyards and became one of the first producers to bottle white Vinho Verde. At the time, the owner introduced a continuous vineyard system, partly trained on trellises and cordons, exclusively planted with noble grape varieties recommended for the sub-region: Loureiro, Pedernã, and Trajadura, with a strong predominance of Loureiro.

The winery was built from scratch between 1965 and 1966 and equipped with machinery suitable for producing high-quality wine bottled at Quinta da Seara under the brand “Montefaro.”

Currently, the estate is owned by Albino Neiva da Silva, honorary consul of Portugal in Saint Barthélemy, in the French Antilles, and produces Vinho Verde wines under the brand “Quinta das Antilhas.”
